CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.SL.6: Adapt speech to a variety of contexts and communicative tasks, demonstrating command of formal English when indicated or appropriate.

Procedure:

Day 1: Students will be grouped into 5 groups. Each group will be assigned a day of the week from Monday-Friday. Students will be given a list of resources and graphic organizers to help them create their video.

Students first task will be to research and fill out graphic organizers/scripts.

Days 2-3: Recording/Content Producing

On these days students will be recording multimedia content. They will be using the video recording and editing mobile app WeVideo on their iPads or Chromebooks. They will be producing and creating the content they have researched and crafted into their scripts. Students will use the green screen and teleprompter website to create their presentation on WeVideo.

Day 4-5: Editing

On these final two days of the lesson the students will be using WeVideo for editing purposes. The students will take the raw footage they have recorded or uploaded and edit it with music, transitions, overlays and more. The teacher will scaffold and offer intervention when needed. Through previous interactions with the software and their exploratory phase, the students know how to use all these features.

Closure: After the airing of their episode, encourage students to survey staff and students for desired features, structure, etc. Input is valued! Gather feedback from administrators, teachers, students, and community members.
